Valentine's Day Poem

Valentine's Day will always be special to me because that is the day when my oldest son was born. After seventeen hours of labor, yes seventeen hours, he was finally ready to come into the world. My husband can never, in a million years, top this gift. So today we celebrate my sons 7th birthday along with Valentine's Day. When parents say time flies, they aren't kidding. I remember when my son was born and when he was a baby, and it doesn't seem like it was that long ago. Everyday I see his cute little face change. It is not the face of a baby anymore but a little man. An exact image of his father, whom I adore. My younger son is the same. I think both boys grow in their sleep because when they wake up it feels to me that their faces have thinned out, and they have gotten taller. Oh, the laments of a mother. We want them to grow up, just not so fast.

Today I am going to post a Valentine's Day poem that I was always fond of. I hope everyone enjoys.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

MY LUV IS LIKE A RED, RED ROSE
by Robert Burns

O, my luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June;
O, my luve's like the melodie
That's sweetl play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands of life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho' it were ten thousand mile.
